What does it mean to be the Best? At Houston Stars you can expect this: Integrity, Excellence, Passion for the game, and the best training program in Houston, in Texas and in the Nation. Our boys program will always seek to develop not only the best volleyball players, but players who show a compassion for others and are men of character. Our club motto is: Excellence in Everything we do. This extends to both on and off the court. We are proud of this growth and are excited to be entering into our 4th season as the best club in Houston.
We will be the premier location for high intensity focused training for boys in the city of Houston. Our philosophy is that we will always strive to be the most technically consistent and diligent program in how we train. Our boys program was highly successful in our first two season. We won Gold Medals at a SWBT tournament and finished with three top-3 finishes and six top 5 finishes at tournaments across the country. Our boys have traveled to Puerto Rico for international competition and competed against some tough international competition in the Open Division. Our 3rd season showed another great jump as we won the Philly national qualifier, finished 9th in open at AAU in the 18 Open division and competed well at the USAV National tournament. Nothing was too tough for our boys and we are excited to see what year 4 will bring for our program.
Our boys director, Aric Anderson, spent 7 years as a consultant coach for the USA Men’s National team and still had ties with USA Men’s and Boy’s programs across the country. He is a Lead Clinician for Gold Medal Squared camps across the country and internationally. He brings a fire and compassion to coaching and our boys will greatly benefit from his leadership. We have also added coach Carlos Gutierrez to our coaching roster. Coach Carlos brings with him 40 years of playing and coaching experience and our program will benefit greatly by having him on board.
